Education is the key to development, and although everybody in Iraqi Kurdistan has the right to go to school, unfortunately the teaching methods, buildings, equipment and facilities are old-fashioned and limited. KSC has a broad-based education sector, which tries to address all aspects of education to create a better future. We support education institutions for children and run several of them ourselves.   The Children Cultural Centres, called 'Kaziwas', and the Youth Activity Centres are situated all over Iraqi Kurdistan, and children can go there to play, meet friends or join any of the activities available.   KCS also runs a co-educational Exemplary Secondary School in Sulaimaniya. It is an English speaking school, with more creative teaching methods than the traditional Kurdish schools, although it follows the Kurdish national curriculum. The pupils come from all levels of society and are given a chance of a broader and higher level of education.
