Kalar Youth Activity Center
On 11th April 2009, Kalar Youth Activity Centre opened a plastic art exhibition for the participants of the centre’s Plastic Art Department in the Kalar Library Hall. In the exhibition 95 works of art were displayed which were drawn using oil paint, pencils, and crayons. The exhibition also contained twenty works of sculpture made with stone and wood which showed the artistic skills of the talented young artists. It is worth mentioning that a lot of young people of the town attended the exhibition.

Rania Youth Activity Center
In honour of the martyrs of Halabjah, on 16th March 2009 the youth of Ranya opened an art exhibition in the Plastic Arts Department at Ranya Youth Activity Center. The exhibition was supervised by the department’s teacher Mamosta Rebaz and it contained a number of works of art portraying an unforgotten disaster in the history of the Kurdish nation, the chemical bombardment of Halabjah in 1988. The exhibition was arranged by the youth to honour the victims of the catastrophe. The attendants appreciated the Plastic Arts Department for the exhibition and wished the artists all the best.

On 26th Nov. 2008, the Music Department at Ranya Youth Activity Center launched a new activity portraying the life and works of a world known musician every Wednesday as an attempt to show their contribution in the world of music followed by discussions about it. Starting on Wednesday the 26th Nov., the biography and masterpieces of Beethoven were shown using a data show projector. Hiwa Bakir, the department's music teacher, further enlightened the attendants about the musician's life and works and showed one of his masterworks – symphony 6 followed by a detailed explanation of the symphony by Basim Muhammad, a music teacher.

On 17th November 2008, Ranya Youth Activity Center held a seminar on cinema and film direction presented by two major Iranian artists Mihrdadi Mukhtarizada and Suheili Sukhanpazhu. A big number of the youth and artists of Bitwen and Pishdar attended the seminar and exchanged their viewpoints with the Iranian presenters. Later, a documentary film ‘Tehran’ was shown followed by discussions about it. The team is planning to conduct artistic projects in the mentioned area in the future.

On 7th November 2008, the football team of Ranya Youth Activity Center won a trophy for coming second in ‘Brayaty Football Championship’ that was held for 12 teams.
The team participated in another championship earlier held for the football teams of Ranya District and was able to win the first place and become the champion of the tournament.

On 4th November 2008, Ranya Youth Activity Center arranged an art exhibition for the artist (Wahbi Rasul). It’s worth mentioning that it was the artist’s sixth individual exhibition. A big number of young people went to see his works and exchanged their views about them.

On 15th October 2008, Ranya Youth Activity Center opened a journalism course that lasted for 11 days. 30 young people participated in the course in which they were taught the materials theoretically and practically as well. At the end of the course certificates were given to the participants.

On 14 September 2008, the Youth Activity Centre of Rania, opened a graphic art exhibition for 11 youths of Art Department to show their art activities to the visitors of the centre.

On August 30, 2008, the graphic art department of Ranya Youth Activity Centre opened a painting exhibition as their participation in those various activities organized by the 'Towards eradication of violence against women' conference, this conference was held by 'Rapareen Women Activity Committee' in co operation with the CDO organization. The attendants of this exhibition were free to write their comments and ideas by chalk on the paintings.

Derbendikhan Youth Activity Center
On January 15-16, Derbendikhan Youth Drum Group gave its annual performance to a large audience of drum lovers, brought together by their love for life-celebrating rhythms of drum beats. The performance started with a piece called The Voice of the Drum, which demonstrated a superb skill of 30-member group to perform as if they all belonged to one body. The group, directed by Huner Ali Hatim, is well known in Derbendikhan and other places in Iraqi Kurdistan. In 2007, the group also received a warm welcome of drum lovers in Italy. A well-known singer from Sina, a Kurdish city in Iranian Kurdistan, took part in the group annual performance this year.

Sulaimaniyah Youth Activity Center
On 20th Oct. 2008, the Confu Department of Sulaimaniyah Youth Activity Center participated in a Confu championship held for all the clubs in Sulaimaniyah and came first and the champion of all the clubs of Sulaimaniyah. In addition, the couch of the team Hallo Muhammad came first in Tai Chin Chuan Style and fencing.
